Quilt trails abound across the nation, but we discovered that Wyoming didn't have very many outdoor quilt blocks for people to enjoy. So we started one inspired by the flood of June 2015.
Niobrara County had what is considered a 500 year flood June 2015 wiping out highways, overpasses, tearing out fences, and homes. Manville and Lusk (the county seat) were both hard hit by this flash flood. Most of the main street with all the small businesses in Lusk were flooded with several feet of water. Looking for something to give us a bright spot to build on several community members joined with the Niobrara Chamber of Commerce with the idea of starting a quilt trail that would travel across our amazing state of Wyoming with Lusk being its heart.
